ROB Manufacturing is a growing fabrication business specialising in quality metal fabrication and welding across mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. We deliver a diverse range of projects, meaning no two jobs are the same. Due to continued growth, we're looking for a skilled tradesperson to step into a Leading Hand role within our workshop.

This is a hands-on position where you'll lead by example, support apprentices and junior team members, and help maintain the high standards our customers expect.

About the Role

As our Leading Hand, you'll work closely with the workshop team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Fabrication and welding of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium components

- Reading and interpreting workshop drawings and fabrication plans

- Supervising jobs through the workshop and ensuring quality standards are met

- Providing hands-on training,



coaching and guidance to apprentices and junior staff

- Conducting quality checks and inspections throughout fabrication processes

- Assisting with workshop scheduling and meeting project deadlines

- Leading by example with a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator

- Strong fabrication and welding experience across a variety of materials

- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings

- Previous experience mentoring, supervising or leading workshop personnel

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

- Current Forklift License (essential)

- Overhead crane experience

- Experience operating workshop machinery

- Current C Class Driver's License

- LR Driver's License desirable but not essential
