Sandstones Psychology fosters a reflective, growth-oriented environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered to move forward.Role Description This contract role is for a Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker based in Canberra in a hybrid working arrangement, combining in-clinic sessions with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing evidence-based psychological interventions, conducting mental health assessments, and developing treatment plans aligned with client goals. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical records, preparing reports and referrals, and collaborating with other health professionals to support integrated care. The practitioner will deliver individual therapy sessions, contribute to case formulation,
and engage in regular supervision and professional development to ensure best practice.Qualifications Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA or accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker (e.g., AASW), with appropriate professional indemnity insurance.Demonstrated experience in delivering evidence-based therapies (such as CBT, ACT, DBT, or trauma-informed approaches) to diverse client groups.Strong clinical assessment and case formulation skills, including the ability to complete comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain therapeutic boundaries.Competence in maintaining clear, timely clinical documentation and using practice management or electronic record systems.Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and participation in clinical supervision.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting, including hybrid in-person and remote service delivery.Experience in private practice, NDIS, or Medicare-funded services and familiarity with relevant clinical funding frameworks is highly desirable.
