Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking applications from highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurses (CN) to join our dynamic, high‑performing Perioperative Services team. Our surgical theatres are equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology and supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team, enabling Scrub Scout nurses to work efficiently and collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
This key clinical leadership role will see you utilise your advanced perioperative expertise within the operating theatre environment. You will play a pivotal role in promoting patient safety, driving clinical excellence, and ensuring effective case management, including the coordination of complex surgical procedures.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will maintain and enhance high standards of nursing care by providing clinical expertise, professional guidance, and local leadership. You will actively support the delivery of high‑quality patient outcomes while upholding the Core Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
We currently have an opportunity for a Part Time Urology Clinical Nurse, ideally with proficiency in robotic and complex endoscopic procedures. This is a permanent part‑time position, working 24 hours per week.
In addition, we are seeking a Full Time General Surgery Clinical Nurse, with robotic surgery experience considered highly desirable. This role is offered on a permanent full‑time basis, working 38 hours per week.
We also have several Casual Registered Nurse opportunities available for suitably qualified candidates.
The Position:
Act as the primary expert and resource for nursing staff regarding complex Robotic, Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Open procedure casesFunction effectively in scrub/scout roles for all Robotic, Laparoscopic,
Endoscopic and Open procedure cases, maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient positioning. Lead and champion quality improvement initiatives within the General and Urology theatre specialty, ensuring adherence to national standards and hospital policies. Provide specialised education, orientation, and mentorship to junior nurses and graduates within the Perioperative Unit. Maintain expertise in the use and troubleshooting of highly specialised General and Urology theatre equipment, including scopes and robotic instruments. Ensure comprehensive pre- and post-operative handover of care is delivered efficiently and accurately.
You will have registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a perioperative setting. You will also have demonstrated advanced clinical competency and expertise in either urology or general surgical procedures.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary surgical team are essential, with proven experience in a Clinical Nurse or equivalent leadership role being highly desirable.

Salary: $109,599 to $115,682 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuationCasual Registered Nurse Rate: $52.30 to $67.24 per hour (incl. 25% casual loading),
