Chef wanted – Asian cooking experience required

Yin and Yum is a small Asian fusion restaurant located at the University of Canberra. We are seeking an experienced and responsible Chef to manage our kitchen with the support of an experienced part-time chef.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and present consistently high-quality Asian cuisine

- Manage the daily operations of a small kitchen

- Use traditional and modern wok flavours and cooking techniques

- Manage food ordering, stock control and wastage

- Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen

- Manage allergens and special dietary requirements safely

- Maintain a clean kitchen and ensure compliance with ACT Health regulations, food safety standards and workplace health and safety requirements

Selection criteria

- Minimum five years’ experience in Asian cooking

- Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility

- Comfortable working in a small venue

- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
