In Direct Recoveries, our customer was deemed not at-fault and we’ve already paid their claim. Now we need to connect with the person responsible for the accident and negotiate the recovery directly with them. That means real conversations with real people, sometimes stressed, sometimes frustrated, often unsure what happens next.

Handled well, those conversations lead to fair outcomes and build the kind of negotiation capability that stays with you throughout your career.

What you’ll be doing

- A full-time role in-office at Sippy Downs, Monday to Friday
- Assisting vulnerable people involved in an accident where our customer wasn't at-fault
- Manage a portfolio of direct recovery matters at different stages
- Review accident reports, statements and evidence to determine liability
- Contact individuals responsible for the accident to initiate recovery
- Explain the liability position and negotiate payment arrangements
- Follow matters up consistently when responses stall
- Keep clear documentation to support recovery decisions
- Work toward recovery targets across your portfolio
- Progress matters through to settlement or escalation when required

- Prepare properly before calls and understand the accident details clearly
- Persist when people avoid the conversation and keep working toward resolution
- Explain complex situations in a way people can understand




- Balance firmness with empathy when negotiating payment
- Keep your portfolio organised so matters continue progressing
- Learn from each case and refine how you approach the next one
- Previous experience in debt collection is highly regarded
