A well-established and expanding Western Australian business that designs, builds, installs and commissions engineered pumping and water-management solutions for the resources sector. On the back of a strong project pipeline and continued growth, they're looking to add an experienced Site Electrician to their installation and commissioning team.The role blends hands-on workshop and manufacturing support in Perth with installation, testing and commissioning work on mine sites throughout WA - offering genuine variety, with no two weeks quite the same
What you'll be doing In the Perth workshop (between site trips)Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on pump skids, control panels and packaged pumping systems before they're dispatched to siteSplice and terminate submersible power cables to bore and pump motorsAssemble and wire pump control equipment - switchboards, variable speed drives (VSDs) and PLC-based control panelsProvide general electrical build support and complete quality checks on equipment prior to dispatch
On site - installation, testing & commissioningInstall and commission the electrical scope across a broad range of industrial water and pump applications, including bore and dewatering pump sets (surface and underground), water transfer and pipeline infrastructure, and associated process-water and re-injection systemsSet up and commission telemetry and remote monitoring / control systemsTest, energise and hand over complete pump control packages, including VSDs and PLCsPrepare installation and commissioning records for client Manufacturer's Data Records (MDRs), including bore installation logsDiagnose and rectify electrical faults identified during commissioning
After-sales & fault responseAttend client electrical fault call-outs, including deploying to site at short notice when requiredProvide remote troubleshooting support ahead of site mobilisation where practical
Safety, compliance & qualityComplete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) before starting tasks, and apply isolation and lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) procedures without exceptionKeep accurate test records, compliance certificates and calibration records for all test equipmentTake an active part in toolbox talks and help drive a safety-first culture in the workshop and on site
What you'll bring Licences & clearancesA-Grade Electrical Worker's Licence (WA) - essentialCurrent driver's licence, White Card and National Police ClearanceAble to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
Experience & technical skillsSolid hands-on background in electrical installation, testing and commissioning - ideally gained in heavy industrial, mining or water / utilities environmentsConfident working with pump control systems, switchboards, VSDs and PLC panelsExposure to dewatering and bore pump sets, water transfer systems and telemetry will be highly regarded
About youStrong written and verbal English communicationA reliable, qualified operator with a proactive, problem-solving mindsetComfortable with regular site travel and rotating rosters (for example 8/6 or 2/1 arrangements, with the occasional swing extension or short-notice call-out)
