Chef/Cook – Immediate Start

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef/Cook to join our dedicated team.

This role will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the opportunity to transition to full-time employment upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements and plating guidelines.

- Demonstrated knowledge of special diets including allergies/intolerances, supplements, texture-modified meals, soft diets, and purees.

- Assist with menu planning and recipe development.

- Manage stocktaking, ordering, and kitchen costing to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

- Maintain supplier relationships and assist with supplier management.

- Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques in accordance with food safety legislation.

- Follow cleaning schedules, complete required documentation, and participate in regular audits.

- Supervise kitchen staff and support a positive team environment.

- Ensure all kitchen staff comply with company policies, procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.





- Maintain high standards across all aspects of kitchen operations.

- Ensure privacy and confidentiality policies are strictly adhered to, with resident information only provided externally by authorised management.

- Participate in company meetings, training sessions, reviews, and special projects as required.

- Undertake additional duties as directed from time to time.

Essential Criteria

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

- Minimum 3 years’ commercial cooking experience in any sector

- NDIS Worker Clearance

- Current COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations

- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Criteria

- Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and/or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

- Experience cooking for large groups within aged care, disability, or childcare settings

Hours

Shifts are rostered between 7:00am and 6:30pm, across 4–5 days per week.

Applicants must be available for versatile start and finish times within these hours.
