The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team on an initial 6-month full time fixed-term contract with the pathway to an extension or permanent role for the right candidate. Your role will provide critical support to the business ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax and accounting compliance work for a portfolio of clients – from financial statements and tax returns through to BAS, GST and broader compliance obligations. Working closely with the partners, you will maintain the firm’s highest standards of client service. In this diverse role, you will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Role requirements/duties include:
- Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a range of entities.
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS and GST returns.
- CGT calculations and documentation.
- Division 7A and franking credit calculations.
- Bookkeeping using MYOB and/or Xero.
- Use of MYOB AE for practice management and compliance.
- End-to-end management of client files with minimal oversight.
- SMSF compliance work where required.
Mandatory requirements for this role are:
- Formal qualifications in CPA or equivalent (e.g. CA).
- Experience with MYOB AE, and MYOB and/or Xero.
- Minimum of 5-8+ years’ experience within public practice accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage client files end-to-end.
- Mature, calm, professional manner with a genuine interest in long-term stability.
- High level attention to detail and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer relationship skills with a professional demeanour and approachable nature.
- Current Drivers Licence.
Advantageous experience for this role:
- Experience with BGL Simple Fund 360 and/or SMSF compliance.
- Availability to commence immediately or at short notice.
