About the opportunity
Based on the Yuri Hydrogen Project in the Pilbara on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth (12-hour days), Altrad is seeking an experienced SMP Supervisor to lead the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical completion and punch list activities.
Working as the primary onsite representative for Altrad, you'll oversee Mechanical Technicians and Riggers, coordinating flange reinstatement and SMP works to ensure quality outcomes are delivered safely, on schedule and to client expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong field presence, excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with both your crew and the client.

In this role, you will:
- Lead and supervise Mechanical Technicians and Riggers, providing clear daily direction and maintaining a visible leadership presence in the field.
- Coordinate mechanical completion, punch list, flange management and flange reinstatement activities to meet project priorities and client expectations.
- Attend daily pre-starts, planning and coordination meetings, acting as the primary interface between Altrad and the client onsite.
- Develop daily work plans, monitor productivity and labour utilisation,
and proactively remove workfront constraints to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements and mechanical completion processes prior to handover.
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with site HSE requirements, permit systems and safe work practices while conducting regular field leadership interactions.
- Provide accurate daily progress reporting, identify resource or tooling requirements, and escalate issues that may impact safety or schedule.
About you
- Mechanical Trade qualification with previous experience supervising SMP or mechanical crews within the Oil & Gas, energy or resources sector.
- Proven experience leading mechanical completion, punch list or commissioning support activities on major projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing flange management, flange reinstatement and piping/mechanical works.
- Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems, mechanical completion processes and quality requirements.
- Experience supervising Mechanical Technicians, Riggers and subcontractors while driving productivity, safety and accountability.
- Confident building strong working relationships with clients and coordinating daily project priorities.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead from the front in a fast-paced site environment.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and the ability to work a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth.
