We are an established manufacturer of steel framing systems supplying residential and commercial construction throughout Canberra and regional NSW.

We're now launching our Structural Steel Division, and we're looking for the right person to help build it from the ground up.

This is an chance for an experienced fabricator/welder who wants more responsibility, more ownership, and the chance to create something they're genuinely proud of.

You'll initially work alongside the Directors to establish workshop systems, fabrication standards, and production processes before taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the division.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for:

- Fabrication of structural steel and miscellaneous steelwork

- Reading engineering drawings and shop drawings

- Managing workshop production and scheduling

- Quality control and fabrication standards

- Ordering steel and consumables

- Supervising apprentices and workshop staff as the team grows

- Liaising with project managers and installers

- Helping establish systems that will allow the business to scale

Initially you'll be hands-on on the tools, but as the division grows you'll transition into a leadership role.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Is a qualified Boilermaker / Welder

- Has experience fabricating structural steel





- Can confidently read fabrication drawings

- Takes pride in producing high-quality work

- Has leadership potential

- Is organised and solution focused

- Wants to help grow a business, not simply clock in and clock out

Experience with the following is highly regarded:

- MIG welding

- FCAW welding

- Overhead crane operation

- Forklift licence

- Site installation experience

- Workshop supervision

- Estimating or quoting
