We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Control Systems Engineers with a background in substation automation and energy infrastructure. This EOI is aimed at professionals with strong technical leadership capabilities who are interested in upcoming opportunities within the energy and power systems space.
While this is not tied to an immediate vacancy, it is intended to identify suitably qualified engineers for future project engagements across substation automation, SCADA, communications, and grid‑connected energy systems.
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have 10-15+ yrs demonstrable experience in delivering substation automation / renewables integration projects in a technical leadership role, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams to success.
Your background may include experience in:
- Substation SCADA and communications architecture design
- Renewable energy or microgrid projects, including:
- Grid‑forming and grid‑following control modes
- Control algorithms such as peak shaving, solar smoothing, spinning reserve support
- Frequency and voltage droop control
PLC / RTU programming, testing, and commissioning Understanding of IEDs (intelligent protection relays), switchgear, and switchyard equipment Interfacing with multi-disciplinary stakeholders Technical leadership, with a strong focus of proactively identifying and mitigating risk,
managing engineering budgets and building client relationships
Preferred SCADA Experience
Experience across one or more of the following platforms is highly regarded:
- AVEVA Plant SCADA
- Ignition
- GE GridOS / PowerOn
- Siemens SICAM SCC
- Other substation or power SCADA platforms will also be considered
Preferred Hardware & RTU Experience
Exposure to configuring and working with substation hardware such as:
- SEL RTAC
- GE
- Eaton Gateways
- Siemens A8000
- Other RTU platforms will be considered
- Industrial communications switches (Cisco, Moxa, Hirschmann)
Communications & Network Protocols
Familiarity with substation and power system communications, including:
- IEC 61850
- DNP3
- Modbus
Desirable Experience
The following experience is not essential but highly regarded:
- Substation cyber security
