The Role

To provide high quality early childhood education and care to children accessing programs at our Early

Learning Centre (ELC) in a manner that shows a professional commitment to children and their families,

and that is God honouring and consistent with the school’s vision to provide a Christ-centred education in

a learning community of Love, Nurture and Service.

The team member is responsible to the Principal through the Head of School (P-5) and Director of the ELC.

This is a permanent position (part-time or full-time) with four weeks annual leave (various shifts available).

The ELC is open from 8am – 6pm and educators are expected to work within those hours as per the roster.

Faith Basis of Appointment

We see the appointment of staff to Trinity Christian School as a ministry calling.

The ethos, aims and objects of a Christian School are based on:

> acceptance of the Lordship of Christ; and

> acceptance of the Bible as the revealed Word of God.

Within Trinity Christian School these are expounded in the Doctrinal Basis.

The Doctrinal Basis does not exhaust the extent of the beliefs of the School and its members. The Bible

itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality,

and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that the School and its members

believe.

You must support the School in these areas and set an example of personal conduct and behaviour

consistent with the School’s beliefs and ethos as outlined in documents made available to prospective

employees prior to interview. Any appointment is conditional upon staff maintaining and demonstrating a

continuing firm personal belief and lifestyle consistent with the School’s Doctrinal Basis and the other

documents provided to staff, this being an essential condition of the appointment.

> Participating in documenting children’s learning in various ways (Seesaw, portfolios, classroom

displays).

> Working with the centre’s Educational Leader and Teachers to further develop professional skills and

knowledge.

> Participating in all ELC activities, using your initiative to complete daily tasks as required to support the

team and children each day.

> Actively contributing to a positive and professional team culture in the ELC and across the Trinity

School Community, always upholding the values of the school.

> Complying with all legislative requirements. Ensuring you are aware of all regulations, legislation and

centre/school policies and how to apply them in practice.

> Participation in other school activities as directed.

Selection Criteria
> Be a committed Christian with a clear understanding of, and support for, education in a Christian

School setting.

> Have a genuine interest in the welfare of students and also in their social, spiritual and academic

development.

> Have the ability to facilitate and engage children in authentic early childhood programs.

> Have an understanding of relevant early childhood legislation and regulations which govern the

provision of early childhood programs.

> Have the ability to documentation children’s learning using a variety of methods.

> Demonstrate the ability to work successfully as part of a team including the ability to critically reflect

on your practice and attitudes and how these affect the wider team culture.

> Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to contribute to a positive and professional team culture.

> Demonstrate a growth mindset and a willingness to attend and participate in professional

development opportunities.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

The successful applicant will have:

> A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Or actively working towards)

> Current First Aid Certificate

> Current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card

Employment Conditions

Employment will be subject to the conditions of the current ACT Christian School General Staff

Multi-Enterprise Agreement. The salary and classification for this position will be dependent on the

qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship.
