With a fleet of drivers operating across Melbourne and surrounding regions, we provide reliable and efficient transport solutions to our growing client base. As our operations expand, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet Manager to join our leadership team and oversee the daily management and strategic coordination of our vehicle fleet.

About the Role

As a Fleet Manager, you will organise and control the buying and selling of vehicles and coordinate the leasing of vehicles and the operations of our enterprise fleet used to transport goods. You will play a central role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and operating at peak efficiency, supporting our team of drivers and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery to our clients.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Organising the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment and fuel
- Liaising with clients to determine requirements and providing customers with advice and information regarding vehicle type, purchase or hire rates and obligations, and handling complaints
- Receiving orders and bookings, and planning and implementing transportation schedules
- Ensuring goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality
- Arranging collection and delivery of vehicles and goods
- Maintaining business records and preparing operational statements and reports
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations




- Overseeing the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles
- Managing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of fleet vehicles
- Developing and implementing strategies for improving fuel efficiency and reducing environmental impact
- Managing and supervising drivers, including rostering, performance monitoring, and compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility obligations

Requirements

- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) in Transport, Logistics, Business Management or a related field
- Proven experience of at least 1 year in fleet management, transport operations, or logistics coordination
- Strong knowledge of road transport regulations, HVNL, and Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage driver teams, vehicle maintenance schedules, and operational reporting
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficiency in fleet management systems and scheduling software
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above
- Registration or licensing may be required
