The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Environmental & OHS Officer to join our team at a meat processing facility located in Batchelor, NT. This hands-on role will support the ongoing implementation of workplace health, safety, environmental, and compliance programs across our operations.

Working closely with management and employees, you will help maintain a secure workplace, promote environmental responsibility, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.

- Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.

- Support environmental monitoring and compliance activities.

- Maintain safety, environmental, and compliance records.

- Assist with the delivery of safety inductions and toolbox talks.





- Monitor workplace practices to ensure adherence to safety procedures.

- Support risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Assist with regulator, customer, and certification audits.

- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the site.

About You:

Must haves

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.

- Knowledge of WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities.

- Confidence engaging with employees across all levels of the business.

- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

- A proactive approach with robust attention to detail.

Preferred

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or working towards).

- Environmental management qualifications or experience.

- Experience within food processing, manufacturing, agriculture, or meat processing industries.

- First Aid certification.
