Perioperative Services Manager | Sunshine Coast, QLD | Full Time
Our client is looking to hire a Perioperative Services Manager to lead the clinical team in a new multidisciplinary day surgery facility on the Sunshine Coast. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Hospital CEO and Director of Nursing.
About the Facility
A new, purpose-built day hospital with three state-of-the-art operating theatres, the latest surgical technology and modern recovery and patient care areas. The surgical caseload spans Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Breast Surgery, Pain Management and MOHS Surgery. The hospital sits within a health precinct alongside established specialist consulting suites and allied health services, creating a single hub for surgical care from consultation through to recovery.
The Role
You will support the Hospital CEO and Director of Nursing in delivering high quality care to day surgery patients, and act as the senior clinical resource for the nursing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading by example on the floor, scrubbing and scouting across a range of procedures
- Managing clinical staff, including rosters and performance appraisals
- Applying ACORN Standards, infection prevention and control in daily practice, and taking part in related education
- Writing evidence based policy and supporting quality systems and ACQSHC National Standards accreditation
- Building effective relationships with key stakeholders, including the group, VMOs and industry representatives
- Implementing change positively across the team
- Driving safe patient care, work health and safety and risk management
What You Will Need
- 3 to 5 years perioperative experience
- Exemplary perioperative skills
- Ophthalmology experience preferred, not essential
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability, including leading change within a team
- Knowledge of ACORN Standards, infection control and prevention
- Experience in quality, accreditation and evidence based policy writing
- Well developed organisational, decision making and communication skills
- Current AHPRA registration
- Full working rights in Australia, already held (essential)

Performance Objectives
- Lead by Example: Scrub and scout alongside the team, setting the clinical standard on the floor.
- Manage the Clinical Team: Oversee rosters, performance appraisals and day-to-day team management.
- Drive Quality and Accreditation: Write evidence-based policy and support National Standards accreditation.
- Build Key Relationships: Work effectively with the group,
VMOs and industry representatives.
- Champion Safety and Risk Management: Drive safe patient care, work health and safety and risk management practices.

Essential Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration
- 3 to 5 years perioperative experience
- Demonstrated leadership and management ability, including leading change within a team
- Knowledge of ACORN Standards, infection control and prevention
- Full working rights in Australia, already held (essential)
