About the Role

Allegiance Heart & Home Care is seeking a reliable, compassionate and experienced Greek-speaking female Support Worker to provide ongoing in-home support to clients.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys working closely with older people and understands the importance of providing respectful, consistent and person-centred care.

The successful applicant will provide a combination of personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, social support, community access and transport.

Being able to speak Greek is key for this role, as effective communication will help the clients feel comfortable, understood and supported while also allowing the support worker to build a positive and trusting relationship with them.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties may include:

- Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
- Supporting clients with showering, dressing and grooming where required
- Providing domestic assistance, including general household cleaning
- Vacuuming, mopping and cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas
- Changing bed linen and assisting with laundry
- Meal preparation and light cooking
- Supporting clients to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment
- Providing companionship and social support
- Assisting clients to access the community
- Transporting clients to shopping, appointments and community activities
- Supporting clients with grocery shopping and errands
- Encouraging client independence and choice
- Observing and reporting any changes in the client’s wellbeing or support needs
- Completing progress notes and required documentation after each shift
- Following the client’s care plan, organisational policies and safe work practices

About You

We are looking for a support worker who is:

- Fluent or confident in speaking Greek
- Caring, patient and respectful
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- Able to build professional and respectful relationships with older clients and their families




- Confident providing both personal care and domestic assistance
- Comfortable transporting clients in their own vehicle
- Able to follow care plans and instructions
- Able to communicate concerns promptly with the care team
- Committed to providing consistent, high-quality support

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

- Ability to speak Greek
- Previous experience in aged care, disability support, home care or community services
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Own reliable and insured vehicle
- Willingness to use own vehicle for client transport and community access
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current CPR certificate
- Valid Australian working rights
- Mobile phone and ability to complete electronic progress notes
- Ability to undertake personal care and domestic assistance duties safely

Desirable Qualifications

The following would be highly regarded:

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or Home and Community)
- Certificate IV in Ageing Support or Disability Support
- Previous experience supporting older people in their own homes
- Experience with personal care and community access
- Experience supporting culturally and linguistically diverse clients
- Knowledge of person-centred care and dignity of risk principles
