Expression of Interest – Acting Director, Energy Security & Emergency Management

- Critical opportunity leading energy security and emergency response within the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability division of DCCEEW
- SEB1 level position, Temporary opportunity until 25 October 2026.
- Parramatta location preferred, flexibility for other offices

An opportunity is available for an internal acting appointment to the role of Director, Energy Security & Emergency Management within the Energy Infrastructure Division, ECCS Group up to 25 October 2026.

This senior leadership role is responsible for leading NSW energy security and emergency management functions, including preparedness, incident response and coordination across the electricity, gas, water and liquid fuels sectors.

The role works closely with senior executives, emergency services, industry operators and the Minister’s Office to ensure the reliability and resilience of the state’s energy system.

About You

This acting opportunity would suit a senior leader with strong experience in emergency management, infrastructure operations or complex stakeholder coordination, who can lead high‑performing teams, provide clear and confident advice in high‑pressure environments, and contribute strategically as part of the ECCS senior leadership team.





The role offers a valuable development opportunity to operate at a senior executive level and support critical whole‑of‑government priorities through to the end of October.

Essential Requirements

- Knowledge and experience in emergency management and infrastructure operations in the electricity, gas, water, and liquid fuels industry sectors.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or equivalent professional experience and training.
