Smart Apprenticeship Solutions and Squad Employment & Training are seeking an experienced and energetic Recruitment Lead to manage and elevate our GTO recruitment function across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

If you’re a confident leader who thrives on building strong teams, designing sourcing strategies and delivering exceptional candidate and client experiences, this role gives you the platform to influence recruitment performance nationally.

You’ll lead a small team of GTO Recruiters and bring structure, consistency and innovation to the recruitment function. Your work directly impacts candidate success, host employer satisfaction and the strength of our talent pipeline across three states.

This is a leadership role with real influence — shaping processes, systems, sourcing strategies and recruitment outcomes. This role involves:

- Lead and coach a multi‑state recruitment team, providing day‑to‑day direction, support and performance management.
- Build structure and consistency across recruitment operations, including standard ways of working, workload allocation and role clarity.




- Develop sourcing strategies that attract high‑quality candidates for GTO vacancies across all regions.
- Identify new sourcing channels and partnerships to diversify and strengthen the talent pool.
- Design and implement talent pooling strategies, building pipelines for hard‑to‑fill roles, regions and industries.
- Oversee candidate readiness, including mentoring, resume support and mock interviews.
- Enhance end‑to‑end recruitment processes, improving systems, tools, documentation and compliance.
- Provide recruitment performance reporting including sourcing effectiveness, time‑to‑fill and quality of hire.
- Build strong relationships with host employers, training providers, schools and community groups.
- Represent the organisation at events, careers days and networking activities.

Skills And Experiences

What You’ll Bring

- Proven experience in recruitment, HR or a similar field, including leading a team.




- Solid sourcing, talent attraction and pipeline development skills.
- Experience improving recruitment processes, systems or performance.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building capability.
- High‑level organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong administration and reporting skills.
- High computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Current driver’s licence and ability to travel across QLD, NSW and VIC.
- Current Working with Children Check.
