Help local businesses win. Drive meaningful economic impact.

ICN Victoria is an independent organisation supported by the Victorian Government. Since 1984, we’ve helped connect local businesses with opportunities on major projects, supporting jobs, industry growth and stronger local supply chains.

We’re looking for an Industry Capability Adviser to join our team. This is a diverse role combining industry research, stakeholder engagement, project management and supply chain analysis to help maximise local business participation in major projects.

About the role

You’ll work with project owners, government agencies, industry associations and businesses to identify local supply chain capability and create opportunities for Victorian suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

- Researching and analysing industry sectors and supply chains
- Identifying local supplier capability, capacity and market opportunities
- Managing and analysing data to generate insights and recommendations
- Supporting major project owners to meet local procurement objectives. The role will have a transport sector focus but experience in this sector is not a requirement.
- Building robust relationships with industry and government stakeholders
- Representing ICN Victoria at industry events and forums
- Managing industry capability mapping and research projects

About you

You may be:

- An analyst, researcher or engineering graduate with a few years’ experience
- A supply chain, procurement, manufacturing or sales professional looking for a broader, purpose-driven role
- Someone ready to move into stakeholder engagement or account management

Most importantly, you’ll be curious, analytical, relationship-focused and passionate about supporting local businesses.

You will also bring:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- The ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong organisation and project management skills
- Experience using Excel and CRM or database systems (Power BI is highly regarded)
- A genuine interest in supporting local industry and economic development
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to ICN Victoria’s mission of helping local businesses succeed

Why join ICN Victoria?

You’ll be part of a passionate team making a real difference to Victorian businesses and communities.

We offer:

- Flexible working arrangements, including up to three days working from home
- Modern CBD office, located a short distance from Queen Victoria Market and Flagstaff gardens
- Professional development leave and ongoing learning opportunities
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- A collaborative, inclusive and supportive culture

For a complete position description or a confidential discussion about this opportunity, please contact Yelena Kats [email protected].

ICN Victoria is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and identities, including people with disability, neurodivergent individuals, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people from culturally diverse communities.
