The Opportunity

Operating from within the Utilities Department, this role will assist the Senior Treatment Operator to provide a range of services that support the provision of safe water, wastewater and gas services across the Western Downs. This includes meeting statutory requirements for performance, safety and environmental management and ensuring customer service standards are achieved to a high standard. This role requires skills and knowledge necessary to monitor, operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment operations.

Suitability for this position will be based on experience, application, achievement, and potential in the following critical competencies as they link to the key responsibilities for this position.

Proven/Demonstrated experience in:

- Monitoring and operating water treatment systems, including treatment plant processes, pumps, and associated infrastructure.

- Experience with maintenance and repair of treatment-related equipment, including filters, tanks, and sensors, with knowledge of calibration and monitoring.

- Proven initiative, a good work ethic, and demonstrated problem-solving skills to address treatment process issues and plant inefficiencies.

About Yourself





A person in this position will need to hold a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Water and Wastewater), OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

- WH&S; Construction Safety Induction White Card

- Open C Class Driver's Licence

- Knowledge of water treatment processes with experience in maintaining, operating, and repairing plant and equipment.

- Other relevant competencies such as confined space, working at heights, chemical handling or ability and willingness to obtain.

- Knowledge of emergency protocols and experience in managing incidents.

Salary Packaging Available
