ARC Switchboards is looking for an experienced Sheetmetal Worker / Fabricator with solid welding capability to join our manufacturing team in Wangara.

We manufacture commercial and industrial switchboards, MCCs and custom electrical assemblies in-house, with our fabrication, electrical assembly, powder coating and engineering functions operating from our Wangara facilities.

We have a strong pipeline of work across commercial, industrial, mining and heavy industry and need someone who can step into the workshop and contribute immediately.

The Role

You will be involved in the fabrication of custom switchboard enclosures, frames, doors, gland plates, brackets and associated sheetmetal components.

Typical work will include:

- Sheetmetal fabrication from drawings and manufacturing documentation

- MIG welding of mild steel and fabricated assemblies

- Cutting, folding, drilling, grinding and finishing

- Fabrication of switchboard frames, doors, panels and custom components

- Operating workshop machinery including guillotines, press brakes, saws and associated equipment

- Reading and interpreting fabrication and engineering drawings

- Checking dimensions and maintaining good fabrication tolerances

- Working closely with our electrical, engineering and production teams

- Assisting with prototype and custom fabrication work where required

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop

What We Are Looking For

We want someone who is hands-on, accurate and productive.

Ideally you will have:

- Previous experience as a Sheetmetal Worker, Fabricator or similar

- Strong MIG welding experience

- Ability to fabricate accurately from drawings

- Good understanding of sheetmetal manufacturing processes

- Experience with press brake folding and general workshop machinery





- Ability to measure, mark out and work to tight tolerances

- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently without constant supervision

- Good attitude and willingness to work as part of a production team

SolidWorks experience is highly regarded, particularly if you can interpret, modify or assist with sheetmetal models, flat patterns and fabrication drawings.

Experience within switchboard manufacturing, electrical enclosures, control panels, machinery, mining equipment or similar industrial manufacturing environments would also be highly regarded.
