The Role
The High Frequency Sensing System Program Office (HFSSPO) is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to lead quality assurance, audit and governance activities within the Engineering Governance Office. This influential role combines assurance, compliance and continuous improvement activities to support sound governance and informed decision-making across the organisation.
As the APS6 Quality Assurance Officer, you will provide assurance to senior leaders that HFSSPO's quality and governance systems remain effective, compliant and aligned with the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Framework. You will coordinate audits, monitor governance activities, analyse trends and risks, and identify opportunities to improve organisational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and conducting quality assurance, governance and audit activities across HFSSPO
- Providing advice and assurance to senior leaders on quality, compliance and governance matters
- Developing, maintaining and monitoring a risk-based audit schedule, including coordination of internal and external audits
- Monitoring compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements, and recommending corrective actions where required
- Reviewing and improving plans, instructions, templates and governance frameworks to ensure consistency, currency and effectiveness
- Identifying trends, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement, and supporting the implementation of practical business improvements
- Maintaining accurate records, audit reports and compliance documentation
- Coordinating Information and Records Management assurance activities and supporting ongoing compliance across the organisation
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing guidance and mentoring to staff on quality and governance practices

HFSSPO acquires, sustains, and exports High Frequency radar capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. This includes the world leading Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar.
