This position will act as a mediator between workshop staff and management. Reporting to the Service Manager to provide direction and support to workshop staff to assist with achieving set goals and targets.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure sufficient risk and task analyses are completed to carry work out safely both onsite and within the workshop
- Monitor activities conducted to identify any significant hazards
- Report all injuries or near misses to the Service Manager as soon as possible following the event
- Ensure protective clothing and safety equipment provided is always worn as appropriate to the current working situation and is in good working order
- Oversee workshop staff and ensure company procedures are followed
- Review disassembly reports to ensure completeness and that required parts are specified including measurement of materials required
- Ensure job numbers and timesheets are completed accurately and on time
- Notify service manager of additional work needed or any delays in expected completion as soon as they become known
- Oversee site staff and ensure work is performed as per current schedule of works and company procedures are followed
- Ensure site documentation and commissioning reports are completed
About you
- Current fitter and turner trade certificate with 5 years post trade experience preferably within the pump maintenance and repair environment
- Work well under pressure
- Able to handle conflict and address differences of opinion
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of pumps and water industry equipment
- Current MR truck license
- Current Forklift license
- Set an example of superior customer service behavior for all service personnel, maintaining positive relationships with customers, employees, and contractors
- Be prompt and available for versatile scheduling
