About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Dietetics & Nutrition, this role is responsible for developing, co-ordinating, implementing, and evaluating a high quality, clinical dietetic service for consumers within Acute Mental Health Services.
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide leadership in the provision of Dietetic Services to Acute Mental Health patients in SALHN
- Provide specialist Dietetic Mental Health advice at senior levels & supporting Dietitians working in Mental Health across SALHN
- Contribute to the development of a Dietetics and Nutrition Department culture that promotes the organisation’s vision and is in line with the SA Health Strategic Health Care Plan
- Develop, implement and review of procedures and guidelines for the optimum nutritional care of patients in Acute Mental Health units, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary Acute Mental health team to improve delivery of services.
- Provide an information service pertaining to the dietetic management of Mental Health consumers and acting as a clinical and educational resource for the unit and externally where appropriate.
- Participate in teaching programs and provide dietetic expertise for medical, nursing and allied health staff and students.
About you:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Australia (DA).
- Ability to lead and foster good working relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to foster professional and personal growth
- Demonstrated skills in service evaluation and organisational development
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead change that results in improved outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that foster trust, confidence and co-operation at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to contribute to the achievement of performance targets in relation to activity, quality, research and development in line with organisational goals.
- Excellent skills in problem solving, decision making, negotiation, and conflict resolution
