Location: Otway Gas Plant near Port Campbell, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform coded welding activities in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), engineering drawings, and client requirements.
- Complete welding repairs, modifications, and installation works on piping, pressure equipment, structural steel, and associated plant infrastructure.
- Conduct welding using various processes including SMAW, GTAW (TIG), FCAW, and GMAW (MIG) as required by the work scope.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, isometrics, P&IDs;, weld maps, and fabrication details.
- Prepare materials, bevels, joints,
and equipment prior to welding activities.
- Carry out grinding, gouging, cutting, fit-up, and fabrication tasks as required.
- Ensure all welds meet quality, inspection, and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements.
- Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and commissioning activities where required.
- Participate in shutdown activities to ensure critical path work is completed safely and on schedule.
- Maintain accurate welding records, traceability documents, and quality paperwork.
- Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
- Work closely with Superintendents, Supervisors, Inspectors, Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, and other trades to achieve shutdown objectives.
- Identify and report defects, hazards, and equipment issues promptly.
Skill Requirements:
- Current Australian-recognised welding qualifications and relevant coded welding certifications.
- Trade Qualification - Engineering Fabrication Trade / Boilermaker Welder.
- Current Welding Certifications (AS/NZS, ASME or equivalent).
- Construction White Card.
- Breathing Apparatus
- Confined Space.
- Gas Test Atmospheres.
- High Risk Work Licences (advantageous).
- Current Driver's Licence.
