Gateway Group is looking for an experienced Machinist to join our growing machine shop in High Wycombe.
This is a hands-on role working on large mining, hydraulic and heavy engineering components using a combination of CNC and manual machining equipment. Both day and night shifts available. 30% loading for all nightshifts.
Equipment includes:
- Horizontal Boring Machine-Fanuc-controlled
- Vertical Boring Machine-Fanuc-controlled
- Okuma MULTUS CNC machines
- Okuma CNC Machining Centres
- Manual lathes and machining equipment
About the Role
You will be responsible for machining, repairing and manufacturing components to drawings, specifications and job requirements.
Typical work includes:
- Hydraulic cylinder components
- Rods, barrels, glands and pistons
- Large mining and earthmoving components
- Shafts, pins and bushes
- Bores and precision-machined components
- Repair and reclamation machining
What We’re Looking For
- Trade-qualified Machinist / Fitter & Turner
- Experience operating HBM and/or VBM machines
- CNC machining experience
- Okuma experience highly regarded
- Okuma MULTUS experience highly regarded
- Manual machining experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of tolerances and measuring equipment
- Experience with large mining components highly regarded
- Ability to work safely and produce quality work
