Senior / UX Business Analyst - NT Government

Location: Darwin, NT

Contract: 12 months

Client: Northern Territory Government - Digital Project Services

Work arrangement: Darwin-based

We are seeking experienced Business Analysts / Senior Business Analysts / UX Business Analysts to support major digital transformation initiatives within the Northern Territory Government.

These opportunities will suit candidates with strong traditional business analysis capability across requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder engagement and system implementation, as well as candidates with experience applying human-centred design, user research and UX techniques within digital projects.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates may be responsible for:

- Facilitating workshops, interviews and focus groups to elicit, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Managing requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analysing current-state and future-state business processes and identifying gaps, opportunities and improvements.
- Producing process maps, workflows, functional specifications, user stories and other project documentation.
- Working closely with Project Managers, BA Leads, solution architects, developers, vendors, SMEs, change teams and testing teams.
- Supporting system design, implementation, integration and solution validation.




- Translating business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.
- Supporting testing activities including test plans, test cases, UAT and solution validation.
- Assisting with change impact assessments, training materials and end-user readiness.
- Delivering documentation in accordance with NT Government/DPS project frameworks and agreed project timelines.

For candidates with stronger UX / human-centred design experience, responsibilities may also include:

- Conducting user research to understand user needs, behaviours and operational requirements.
- Developing personas, user journeys, user flows, wireframes and prototypes.
- Applying design thinking and human-centred design methodologies.
- Conducting usability and accessibility testing/reviews.
- Ensuring user-centred design principles are embedded throughout digital solution design and delivery.
- Supporting the design of intuitive, accessible and effective digital experiences.

Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with experience across several of the following areas:

- Strong experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst and/or UX Business Analyst within complex ICT or digital transformation environments.
- Requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and management.
- Business process analysis, process mapping and workflow documentation.
- Functional and non-functional requirements.
- Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience supporting system implementation,



integration and testing.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including developers, architects, project managers, vendors and business stakeholders.
- Experience managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office.

Additional Experience Highly Regarded

Depending on the role, experience in the following will be advantageous:

- Human-centred design / UX
- User research and usability testing
- Design thinking
- Figma or similar prototyping tools
- Personas, user journeys, user flows and wireframing
- BPMN 2.0 or similar process modelling standards
- Finance or financial systems projects
- HR systems / workforce or rostering systems
- Government digital transformation projects
- Change management
- Software integration analysis and delivery
