Depending on the NDIS participant, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting NDIS participants with community access, appointments, shopping and recreational activities
- Assisting with meal planning, grocery shopping and meal preparation
- Providing prompting or assistance with personal care, grooming and dressing
- Providing medication prompts in accordance with the participant’s support plan
- Supporting participants to complete daily living and household tasks
- Breaking activities into simple and manageable steps
- Providing reminders, repetition and transparent instructions
- Supporting participants to build independence, confidence and social connections
- Assisting participants to use public transport and safely access unfamiliar environments
- Monitoring fatigue, wellbeing and changes in presentation
- Supporting participants with emotional regulation by remaining calm, reassuring and flexible
- Completing accurate shift notes,
incident reports and other required documentation
The successful worker will need to:
Have availability in the mornings 8:30 am to 11:30 am from Monday to Wednesday.
- have experience dealing with Acquired Brain Injury, Multiple sclerosis and other support needs
- Communicate using clear and simple instructions
- Be respectful of sensory sensitivities, including noise, heat, bright lights and unfamiliar environments
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance
Applicants must have
1. NDIS Worker Screening Check
2. Working with Children Check
3. Current First Aid certificate
4. Current CPR certificate
5. Current Australian driver’s licence
6. Reliable vehicle
7. Comprehensive vehicle insurance
8. Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification, or relevant experience
