About the Role
The Team Leader Building Facilities is responsible for leading the delivery of maintenance, contractor management, capital works and facilities services across Council's building portfolio. This role oversees the Building Facilities team, manages operational resources, budgets, procurement and contractor performance, and ensures facilities are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. The position also drives operational planning, continuous improvement and the implementation of contemporary facilities management practices to enhance service delivery and support Council's strategic objectives.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) – White Card.
- Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated experience leading operational teams, contractors and service delivery activities across multiple sites or assets.
- Demonstrated experience in facilities management, building maintenance operations, infrastructure coordination or a similar operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise, allocate and monitor operational workloads, maintenance programs and service delivery activities within a energetic operational environment.
- Experience coordinating contractors, procurement activities, maintenance programs and operational service delivery outcomes.
- Well-developed knowledge of facilities maintenance practices, contractor management,
operational compliance requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Council policies, procedures and operational frameworks relevant to facilities management and maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to resolve operational issues and support service delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor operational expenditure, contractor performance, purchase orders and invoicing processes within delegated authority.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and achieve operational deadlines.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and corporate systems for reporting, work management, procurement and operational coordination activities.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively engage with staff, contractors, stakeholders and service providers.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of operational performance and compliance.
