The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Dual Trade Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our growing team servicing commercial and industrial sites across Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast.
We're particularly interested in technicians who hold both Mechanical/HVAC and Electrical trade qualifications. Experience or qualifications in fire services will be highly regarded and considered a strong advantage.
You'll work across a varied mix of commercial and industrial HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and associated building services. This could include split systems, VRV/VRF systems, chillers, ducted plant, refrigeration equipment, controls and electrical systems.
This is a role where you'll have the autonomy to run your own jobs, backed by an experienced support team and rewarded properly for the work you do.
What You'll Be Doing
- Service, fault-find and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration plant
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and controls faults
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance against site asset registers
- Install, commission and decommission HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Complete electrical fault-finding, repairs and minor electrical works within your licence and scope
- Assist with controls,
BMS and building services fault-finding
- Complete service reports, photographs and asset data through our mobile platform
- Work closely with the dispatch team to plan daily schedules and keep clients informed
- Where suitably qualified, undertake fire services inspection, testing and maintenance
- Provide professional recommendations to clients and site contacts
What You'll Bring
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
- Electrical trade qualification/licence
- Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
- Current driver's licence
- Confidence working independently across commercial and industrial sites
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Full Australian working rights
Fire Experience – Highly Regarded
Candidates with any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Certificate II or III in Fire Protection and Testing
- PAS accreditation or eligibility
- Experience servicing fire detection and protection systems
- Experience with fire indicator panels (FIPs)
- Knowledge of AS 1851
- Wet or dry fire endorsements
Bonus Points For
- EWP, Working at Heights or Confined Space tickets
- Experience with BMS and controls fault-finding
- Refrigeration experience across cool rooms, freezer rooms or process cooling systems
- Experience with VRV/VRF systems and commercial chillers
- EWIS, emergency lighting or other building services experience
- Additional electrical, mechanical or fire industry qualifications
