Southgate Used Cars is part of SCL Automotive Group, a growing automotive group with multiple dealerships across Australia. We are looking for an experienced and driven Used Car Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the performance and growth of our used vehicle operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to buy the right stock, lead a sales team, manage stock turn and gross, and deliver consistent results.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day performance of Southgate Used Cars, with responsibility across purchasing, pricing, stock management, sales performance, team leadership and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Used Car Sales team to achieve monthly and annual targets

- Manage used vehicle purchasing, appraisals and stock acquisition

- Monitor stock turn, ageing, pricing and gross profit

- Develop and implement strategies to maximise used vehicle sales and profitability

- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, wholesalers and internal departments

- Ensure vehicles are presented to a high standard and prepared for sale efficiently

- Manage online listings, pricing and merchandising to maximise enquiry and conversion

- Monitor sales KPIs and hold the team accountable for performance

- Recruit, coach, develop and motivate the sales team





- Drive a high-performance, customer-focused culture

- Work closely with the General Manager and wider SCL Automotive team to maximise opportunities

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Has proven experience as a Used Car Manager or Senior Used Car Sales Manager

- Has a strong understanding of used vehicle purchasing and appraisal

- Understands stock turn, ageing, gross profit and market pricing

- Focused on profitability

- Has a proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a sales team

- Is highly organised and driven by results

- Has excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Takes ownership - accountability

- Wants to build something and be part of a growing automotive group
