Summary of Role
Are you a former Navy Marine Technician with experience supporting complex maritime electrical and electronic systems?
We are seeking qualified Electrical or Electronics Technicians to support mission-critical Defence maritime capability.
These opportunities are particularly suited to former Royal Australian Navy personnel with experience as a Marine Technician – Electrical or in an equivalent maritime electrical or electronics role.
Current Opportunities
1 × Field Services Technician
The Field Services Technician will provide hands-on maintenance, diagnostics, repair and technical support for complex maritime electronic systems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting equipment inspections, testing and fault diagnosis
- Performing analogue and digital circuit testing
- Completing board-level repairs and component replacement
- Testing integrated circuits and electronic assemblies
- Removing and replacing BGA components
- Programming and configuring FPGA-based equipment
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting software
- Supporting virtual-machine environments
- Diagnosing and repairing computer hardware
- Completing technical reports and maintenance documentation
- Supporting equipment installation, commissioning and return-to-service activities
1 × Maintenance Coordinator
The Maintenance Coordinator will plan, coordinate and monitor maintenance activities for maritime electronic equipment and systems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating planned and corrective maintenance activities
- Managing maintenance schedules, priorities and resources
- Monitoring equipment defects and outstanding maintenance actions
- Liaising with technicians, engineers, customers and Defence stakeholders
- Coordinating equipment repair, testing and return-to-service activities
- Reviewing technical documentation, maintenance records and service reports
- Providing technical guidance to maintenance personnel
- Supporting fault investigations and technical problem-solving
- Ensuring maintenance is completed in accordance with safety, security, quality and Defence requirements
What You Will Bring
To be considered, you will have:
- A recognised Electrical or Electronics Technician qualification
- A current Australian Government NV1 security clearance
- Previous Defence maritime electrical or electronics experience
- Strong soldering and component-replacement skills
- Integrated circuit testing experience
- Board-level fault-finding and repair experience
- BGA removal and replacement experience
- FPGA programming experience
- Analogue and digital circuit-testing capability
- Knowledge of analogue signal electronics
- Software installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience
- Virtual-machine experience
- General computer diagnostics and repair knowledge
- The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentation
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting and maintenance
Highly Desirable
The following experience will be highly regarded:
- Previous service as a Navy Marine Technician
- Multi-bus II experience
- CompTIA or CompTIA A+ certification
- Experience supporting Defence maritime combat, communications, control or platform systems
- Experience working within Defence engineering, configuration-management and maintenance frameworks

You bring a disciplined approach to fault finding, documentation and technical workmanship and can operate effectively within secure Defence environments. You are comfortable working independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering reliable operational capability.
