Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) - Anaesthetics & PACU

Full Time | Monday to Friday day surgery hours

$120,830 - $124,900 + super, EBA-aligned

A private day surgery hospital in Melbourne's east is looking for an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to lead floor coordination and clinical escalation across Anaesthetics and PACU.

The Role

As ANUM, you will coordinate the floor across Anaesthetics and PACU, providing clinical leadership and escalation support to the theatre team on a day surgery roster.

What's On Offer

- $120,830 p.a. (Year 1) rising to $124,900 p.a. (Year 2), EBA-aligned, plus superannuation
- Qualification allowance for a postgraduate certificate or diploma, or a Master's degree, on top of base pay
- Day surgery hours, typically Monday to Friday with minimal or no overnight or weekend shifts
- Saturday, Sunday and public holiday loadings apply where worked

About You

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience as an ANUM, Team Leader or senior perioperative nurse across Anaesthetics and PACU
- Confidence coordinating a busy day surgery floor and supporting clinical escalation
- Ophthalmology experience is preferred but not essential
- Full working rights in Australia

Performance Objectives

- Lead Floor Coordination: Coordinate patient flow across Anaesthetics and PACU for a protected, efficient day surgery list.
- Provide Clinical Escalation Support: Act as first point of clinical escalation for the theatre team.
- Support Team Development:



Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff across both areas.
- Maintain Safe Patient Flow: Balance competing floor priorities without compromising safety.

Environment & Resources

You will work within a private day surgery hospital in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, as part of a theatre team spanning Anaesthetics and PACU. You will report through the Nurse Unit Manager, with day surgery hours and minimal or no overnight/weekend shifts.

Essential Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Experience as an ANUM, Team Leader or senior perioperative nurse across Anaesthetics and PACU
- Confidence coordinating a busy day surgery floor and supporting clinical escalation
- Ophthalmology experience preferred but not essential
- Full working rights in Australia
