We are partnering with a well-established financial services organisation seeking a Collections & Recoveries Officer to join their growing team on a 12-months fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in collections, financial assistance, customer service or financial services who enjoys balancing customer outcomes with commercial objectives. Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will manage a portfolio of customers, helping to resolve outstanding arrears while maintaining robust customer relationships and ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of customers with overdue accounts and outstanding payments.
- Contact customers via phone, email and written correspondence to discuss arrears and agree on suitable repayment solutions.
- Assess customer circumstances and determine appropriate collections strategies.
- Monitor payment arrangements and proactively follow up on missed commitments.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and administrative issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within internal systems.




- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure timely resolution of cases.
- Escalate complex matters where appropriate and assist with recovery activities when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a positive team culture.

About You

- Previous experience in collections, recoveries, financial services, banking, lending or customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to build rapport and navigate challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience within equipment finance, asset finance, leasing or vendor finance environments, highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline.
