Our client is a well-established food manufacturing company looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Grain Popper Line Setter to join their Maintenance & Engineering team in Villawood.
You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and setting up production machinery to ensure safe, reliable and consistent production and must have experience with FMCG industry
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs safely and within your skill level
- Troubleshoot equipment faults and minimise production downtime
- Assist with production changeovers and machinery cleaning
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine safety checks
- Complete hazard reporting and maintain a safe working environment
- Carry out mechanical repairs and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Perform daily equipment inspections
- Assist with spare parts management
- Complete GP head assembly and disassembly
- Follow GMP, QA, safety and troubleshooting procedures
- Maintain general housekeeping standards
- Work occasional weekends or shutdowns when required
- Perform other maintenance duties as required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools
- Previous maintenance experience in FMCG or food manufacturing highly desirable
- Experience with production and food-processing machinery
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Good knowledge of pneumatics; industrial controls experience desirable
- Experience with preventative maintenance
- Familiarity with computers and maintenance management software
- Understanding of GMP (Positive Manufacturing Practices)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and shutdowns
