Salary Package: $48 - $55 per hour + Super
Role Highlights:

Join a well-established manufacturing organisation with a national footprint, supporting a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees across more than 120 sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join the business on a 9-month fixed-term contract covering a period of maternity leave.

Stepping into an established and well-run payroll function, you will play a key role in ensuring the continued delivery of accurate, compliant payroll services across multiple pay cycles. Working closely with Finance and HR, you will support payroll reporting, reconciliations, month-end activities and continuous process improvement initiatives while maintaining exceptional service to employees across the business.

This role offers hybrid working arrangements, exposure to a complex multi-site manufacturing environment, and the opportunity to seamlessly support the team during an important leave period.

Role Overview
Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across multiple pay cycles, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time throughout a 9-month maternity leave cover.

You will manage payroll for approximately 1,000 employees across 120 locations, interpreting awards and enterprise agreements, processing payroll variations, reconciliations and statutory obligations, while partnering closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced payroll professional who can quickly integrate into the team, maintain existing processes, and provide reliable support during this planned period of leave. The successful candidate will be confident working independently while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

- End-to-end accounts receivable processing including invoicing and collections




- Manage and reduce aged debtors while maintaining strong client relationships
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve billing discrepancies
- Process cash allocations and ensure accurate record keeping
- Assist with month-end close, reporting, and cash flow forecasting
- Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to resolve payment issues
- Identify and drive process improvements within AR function
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with internal controls

Candidate Profile
You are an experienced Senior Payroll Officer with a strong background managing end-to-end payroll within medium to large, multi-site organisations.

You have extensive experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements and are confident processing complex payrolls with a high level of accuracy.

You possess strong reconciliation, reporting and problem-solving skills and are comfortable working with manual timesheet inputs alongside automated time and attendance systems.

Experience using ADP Payforce will be highly regarded, along with exposure to APAC or New Zealand payroll environments.

Most importantly, you are adaptable, detail-oriented and capable of stepping into a contract role and adding value from day one
