Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be a trusted adviser to our leadership team and a key partner to managers across the business. You will have the opportunity to influence how we attract, develop, lead and retain our people while building the systems, capability and culture needed to support our continued growth.

This is a strategic and hands-on role. We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between advising senior leaders on workforce strategy and sitting down with a manager to work through a complex employee matter.

The Opportunity

As People & Culture Manager, you will lead the full People & Culture portfolio and play an important role in shaping the future of our organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Develop and implement a People & Culture strategy aligned with our business objectives and growth plans.

- Partner with the COO, Executive Leadership Team and operational leaders on workforce and organisational priorities.

- Provide senior-level advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters.

- Lead investigations, grievances, disciplinary matters, performance issues and workplace conflict.

- Provide practical advice on the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Awards,

Enterprise Agreements and employment obligations including a deep understanding of all applicable Legislative requirements.

- Build leadership capability through coaching, mentoring and development.

- Lead workforce planning, talent management and succession planning for critical roles.

- Develop and oversee recruitment and talent acquisition strategies.

- Strengthen our employee value proposition, onboarding and retention strategies.

- Lead the performance management framework and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

- Develop remuneration, reward and advantages frameworks, including salary benchmarking and annual remuneration reviews.

- Drive employee engagement, culture and employee experience initiatives.

- Develop learning and development strategies that build capability across the organisation.

- Oversee HR systems, workforce reporting and people analytics.

- Ensure robust governance, compliance and management of people-related risks.

- Lead People & Culture projects and initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a commercially minded People & Culture leader who can build strong relationships,

provide sound advice and make things happen.

You will bring:

- Significant experience in a senior HR, People & Culture or HR Business Partner role.

- Experience managing a broad People & Culture portfolio.

- Strong employee and industrial relations experience, including complex case management and investigations.

- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards.

- Experience interpreting and applying Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements.

- Demonstrated experience coaching and developing managers and leaders.

- Experience with workforce planning, talent management and succession planning.

- Strong understanding of remuneration, performance management and employee engagement.

- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance people, business and risk considerations.

- High emotional intelligence, resilience and sound judgement.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.

- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.

- Experience in civil construction, contracting, mining, resources, engineering or another operational environment.

We see People & Culture as a critical part of business performance.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence how we lead our people, build organisational capability and shape our culture as the business continues to evolve.
