Northerlies Beach Bar and Grill is a premier dining destination located in tropical Airlie Beach, Queensland. The venue consists of brasserie restaurant dining, an outdoor beachside kitchen, and 2x bars with an overall capacity of 750 seats. It's busy season and we're seeking a talented Chef to bolster our experienced kitchen team.

You will ensure tasks assigned are carried out in a timely fashion, to a high standard and within food hygiene guidelines.

As a Chef, your duties will be;

- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- May select and train staff
- May freeze and preserve foods
- Have an chance to utilise your time management and organisational skills.
- Bring a high level of proficiency in all areas of the kitchen




- Be willing and able to work in all sections of the kitchenHave a passion for creating delicious, expertly prepared, cooked, and presented food.
- Keep an organised kitchen and uphold a food safety program to assist in maintaining the kitchen, food and hygiene standards.
- Be a team player and work well within a team

Applicants must:

- Hold a qualification of at least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Above
- At least a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in the same role.
- Demonstrate motivation, commitment, and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with a growth mindset to continually learn and improve.
- Thrive in a high-volume and high-pressure environment
