The Role
We're seeking curious and critical thinkers who are great communicators and collaborators. You'll enjoy the balance between working in technical detail but love to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to have impact in your day to day.
Our Vacation team member opportunities cover a range of disciplines, including:
- Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, construction, environmental)
- Business, Commerce, Project Management
- Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or IT
- Science (ie Environmental, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Ecology, Physics)
As a Vacation team member at Yarra Valley Water you will be immersed into one of the following teams and undertake a bespoke learning journey that provides real-world experience and a chance to discover where a career in the water industry could take you!

Mechanical and Electrical ReliabilityLead and improve plans for mechanical and electrical equipment, and turn service and investment plans into explicit actions and projects.
Treatment and Land Investment PlanningPlan future water, treatment and land investments that support growth, sustainability and reliable services.
Sewer Investment PlanningLead the planning of the sewer network and make sure service and investment plans work together.
Water Investment PlanningPlan future water and alternative water investments that support growth, sustainability and reliable services.
Asset Data Science and ModellingTurning data into useful insights that help our teams make timely, informed decisions to deliver reliable, compliant and sustainable services to our customers and community.
Service Response and OperationsWater OperationsManage and improve sewer, treatment plant and water assets to provide safe, reliable services for customers and protect the environment.

Asset Delivery & CareMajor ProjectsLead the successful and safe delivery of important capital projects that require specialist knowledge or tailored approaches, including unregulated activities and new procurement models, to achieve positive outcomes for operations, customers and the environment.
Major Pipeline projectsDesign and deliver large and complex water and sewer projects.
Community Sewerage ProgramLead the planning, design and construction of sewer systems, including pressure and gravity systems, in areas that currently use septic tanks.
