About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Sydney on a permanent or fixed-term basis. This role suits a hands-on senior engineer who is equally comfortable across the front end and back end, and who can operate confidently in a cloud-native, Agile delivery environment. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, building and maintaining scalable web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks alongside Java and Python services, deployed on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using React.js and Next.js on the front end, and Java and Python on the back end.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions across the front-end and back-end stack.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code using TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, or Cypress.
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to support frequent, reliable releases.
- Deploy, monitor, and optimise applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Participate fully in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA.




- Use Git/GitHub for source control, code review, and collaborative development.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across the stack.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and code quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

- 7 - 12 years of professional software engineering experience in a full-stack capacity.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Python.
- Solid hands-on experience with React.js and Next.js.
- Solid command of TypeScript / JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Proven experience designing and building REST APIs.
- Practical experience with Git/GitHub in a collaborative development environment.
- Experience working within Agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban).
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Jest, Cypress, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
- Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering capacity.
- Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
