Job Title - PRMG Deputy Project Manager

Primary Duties

- Accountable to contribute to the development and maintenance of product planning and performance processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.
- Apply project management methodologies to administrative and technical activities.
- Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and understand their expectations and concerns.
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
- Apply excellent attention to detail and prioritise tasks.
- Demonstrate robust self-initiative and communication skills
- Work successfully as part of a large cohesive team, with industry and with international partners.

Relevant Tertiary Qualifications:

- A degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, IT, physics, mathematics, logistics, supply chain management, business, or project management. Experience in complex technical environments is valued.
- Resource Management Understanding: A solid grasp of logistics principles, supply chain management, inventory control, and asset lifecycle management across various technologies.

Stakeholder Engagement Skills:

- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups, including technical experts, military personnel, industry partners, and international representatives.

SFIA Skills Sought:
The management of projects, typically (but not exclusively)



involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. The adoption and adaptation of project management methodologies based on the context of the project and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

PRMG Level 4:
Defines, documents and carries out small projects or sub-projects (typically less than six months, with limited budget, limited interdependency with other projects, and no significant strategic impact), alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phases. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Applies appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Agrees project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate. Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that own projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded.
