Psychiatrist – Youth Mental Health | Gold Coast, QueenslandSenior Staff Specialist / Staff Specialist Gold Coast Health | Permanent Full-Time or Part time
Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist – Youth Mental Health to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) within its Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS).
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist Psychiatrist with strong experience in youth mental health to join one of Queensland's largest and most progressive health services, while enjoying the exceptional lifestyle offered by the Gold Coast.
The Opportunity The successful Psychiatrist will provide clinical specialist psychiatric support to young people aged 18–25 years as part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service.
You will make a significant contribution to:
- Specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment of young people
- Contemporary, evidence-based mental health care

Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and management to young people aged 18–25
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice
- Participate in medical education and teaching
- Contribute to service improvement and clinical governance
- Participate in the wider Mental Health and Specialist Services after-hours, on-call and ECT rosters
- Support the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centred mental health care

Essential Criteria Applicants must have:
- MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Medical Board of Australia
- FRANZCP, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
- Specialist registration in Psychiatry with AHPRA, or eligibility to obtain specialist registration
- Strong clinical experience in Youth Mental Health
- Strong teaching and supervision experience
- Fellowship of RANZCP or ability to obtain Fellowship within six months
- Ability to participate in after-hours, on-call and ECT rosters
International Medical Graduates Internationally trained psychiatrists are encouraged to apply.
Candidates who have completed their specialist training overseas may require a comparability assessment through RANZCP as part of the specialist registration process.

Mandatory Requirements Prior to commencement, successful applicants will be required to meet Queensland Health employment requirements, including:
- Evidence of vaccination or ability to be vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening
- Declaration of any serious disciplinary history
- Provision of certified copies of relevant qualifications and registration
