Homeless Law provides legal help to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Victoria. Through integrated legal and social work services, we help people resolve legal issues that affect their housing, safety, and stability. Data is central to how we understand client need, measure our impact, improve our services, and make the case for continued investment in access to justice.

As our Data Insights and Projects Lead, you will turn complex data into clear, compelling insights that inform how Homeless Law delivers its services and demonstrates its impact. You will do well in this role if you are someone who enjoys working with data in a purpose-driven environment, can communicate findings to non-technical audiences, and is motivated by using evidence to improve outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage.

Justice Connect values flexibility. While this role is advertised as full-time, we will consider 0.8 FTE for the right candidate.

Our ideal candidate

You will bring to the team experience in the following areas:

- Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, visualisation, and reporting, including proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, and/or CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience applying data methodologies to monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), including developing metrics, dashboards, and impact frameworks.
- Experience managing projects with support, including planning, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience contributing to funding applications, reporting, and/or advocacy work by translating data into compelling narratives and evidence.
- A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach, with a demonstrated commitment to social justice and improving outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage.

Required qualification:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in analytics, statistics, social sciences, law, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Candidates will need to demonstrate commitment to Justice Connect's vision, strategy and values.

What you will achieve in the role

In this role, you will:

- Strengthen Homeless Law's ability to use data to understand client need, service demand,



emerging trends, and impact, helping the program make evidence-informed decisions about where to focus its work.
- Improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of Homeless Law's data systems and processes, including how information is captured, analysed, documented, and used across the team.
- Produce clear and compelling insights for funder reports, grant applications, impact reporting, and advocacy, showing the value and outcomes of Homeless Law's legal, social work, and digital services.
- Support better service design and continuous improvement by translating data into practical recommendations that respond to client needs, sector developments, and opportunities for innovation.
- Improve funding sustainability of the program through assisting with grant applications and proposals.

A week in this role

If you were here last week, you would have:

- Used data from Microsoft Dynamics 365, Excel, and Power BI to identify trends in Homeless Law's client enquiries, legal matters, digital tools, and impact data, and turned those insights into practical recommendations for service delivery, strategy, and advocacy.
- Worked with Homeless Law lawyers, social workers, legal administrators, and the MEL Lead to improve how we collect, analyse, and use sensitive client and service data, including strengthening data quality, dashboards, documentation, and staff capability.
- Prepared clear, accurate data inputs for funder reports and grant applications, translating complex quantitative and qualitative information into compelling evidence about Homeless Law's need, reach, and outcomes.
- Coordinated project work across Homeless Law, including resource development, training activities, and continuous improvement projects that respond to emerging client, community, and sector needs.
- Joined a team meeting with multi-disciplinary staff to talk through how to leverage artificial intelligence in Homeless Law's work.

Salary

$101,890.27 per annum (pro-rata depending on FTE) + 12% superannuation + 17.5% annual leave loading

As a not-for-profit, Justice Connect is able to offer salary packaging, which allows you to enjoy part of your salary tax-free, increasing your take-home pay.

- Up to $15,900 per year on everyday living costs, including rent, mortgage, groceries, bills and personal loan repayments
- Up to $2,650 per year on meals and entertainment

Our salary packaging partner, Smart, will assist successful candidates in setting up and managing their arrangements.

- Employment type: Full time, 12-month fixed term contract (0.8 FTE considered)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (1 FTE)
