About the role
selectability has an exciting opportunity for a Life Coach to join our team. As a Life Coach, you will assist members to set meaningful goals to enable them to create a life on their terms; assisting to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be. The Clubhouse is a dynamic environment that supports a growing community of members living with mental illness.
The peer-supported environment allows members to build confidence, make friends, learn the skills needed to access education and employment opportunities. You will work with members to develop the weekly programs and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Clubhouse.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Bringing a positive, motivating approach that encourages participation and builds confidence
- Collaborating with other professionals to provide holistic support and resources
- Monitoring and evaluating members progress, adjusting coaching strategies as needed
- Empowering members to build confidence, improve well-being, and enhance their quality of life
- Supporting and guiding member-led groups, ensuring engagement, structure and alignment with Clubhouse standards
- Focusing on members' abilities and strengths to support growth and achievement
- Assisting members to build practical, social and personal skills that promote independence and wellbeing
- Taking ownership of ongoing professional development by completing required training and continuously improving coaching practice
- Being a dependable presence that helps members feel safe, supported and empowered
About you
To be successful you must have:
- Experience in the mental health industry
- A commitment to selectability’s values
- A professional approach
- An ability to read and play music (highly desirable)
- A demonstrated ability to show empathy and compassion
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to reach an isolated audience
Role requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience (highly desirable)
- Current nationally recognised First aid & CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain)
- Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate
- Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
- Roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance

The Life Coach is a casual position based in Townsville.
