About the Role:

Corporate Protection is seeking an experienced security professional to join our Mackay-based maritime security team as 2IC. This leadership opportunity will see you play a key role in supporting a high-performing team responsible for protecting one of the region's most important infrastructure assets.

As the 2IC, you will assist with the day-to-day leadership of the team and help ensure security services are delivered in accordance with industry best practice, relevant legislation, and client policies and procedures.
Duties are varied and may include client engagement, rostering, staff supervision and training, drug and alcohol testing, mobile and static patrols, and the delivery of toolbox talks.

Roster: Monday to Friday – 8.5 Hours per day

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, recommend and implement a strategic operational plan for all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with budgets, policies, procedures, OH&S;, and QA requirements.
- Ensure contractual KPI’s are met.
- Ensure services are delivered in an efficient and professional manner.
- Oversee the administrative functions of the team.
- Allocate and supervise projects, tasks, services, and training courses for team members where required.
- Ensure staff are efficient and deliver effective and relevant services to clients and staff.
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing.
- Liaise with the client’s PFSO and other relevant stakeholders to maintain a clear understanding of contract KPIs and obligations.
- Ensure all administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.
- Forecast and upload staff rosters to the appropriate system at least two months in advance.
- Complete all required periodic reports for the Company or Client.
- Coach, guide, counsel and mentor staff.
- Conduct staff performance appraisals.
- Conduct internal audits on staff qualifications on a monthly basis.
- Perform ad hoc PFSO duties as required by the client and to the client’s standards.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as business needs require.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:

- Current QLD Security Officer’s License Class 1 (Unarmed, Monitoring)
- Current Unrestricted QLD Driver’s License
- Certificate II in Security Operations
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- Proof of Working Rights in Australia (Birth Certificate, Passport or Visa)
The successful candidate must also be willing to obtain the following qualifications:
- Maritime Security Identification Card
- Safely Access the railway corridor (SARC)
- HLTPAT005 or HLTPAT010 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
- White Card
- Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) Certification
- Maritime Security Guard (MSG) Course – This is a CPA course to be completed prior to first shift
