About the Role

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you'll play an important leadership role while remaining actively involved in clinical nursing.

This is an opportunity for an experienced nurse who enjoys mentoring others, fostering a positive team culture, and helping drive high clinical standards, while still being hands-on in a busy and rewarding veterinary environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, mentoring, and supporting the nursing teamAssisting with nurse training, onboarding, and ongoing developmentHelping maintain a positive and collaborative team cultureSupporting workflow management and day-to-day clinic operationsAssisting veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics,



and proceduresSurgical preparation and theatre assistanceMonitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recoveryHospital patient care and treatment managementPathology collection and diagnostic testingMaintaining high clinical and patient care standardsSupporting inventory, equipment maintenance, and nursing protocolsWorking closely with the Practice Manager and Vet Director to support clinic successProviding outstanding client communication and customer serviceThis role offers the opportunity to influence team culture, clinical standards, and the continued growth of both the nursing team and the clinic.

Our caseload is varied and often complex, ranging from preventative healthcare through to emergency presentations, medical workups, surgery, and ongoing case management.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary NursingHas significant clinical veterinary nursing experienceHas leadership, mentoring, or senior nursing experience, or is ready to step into a leadership roleIs confident across medical, surgical, and hospital nursingDemonstrates excellent anaesthetic monitoring skillsHas strong organisational and communication abilitiesLeads by example and enjoys supporting others to succeedIs proactive, reliable, and solutions-focusedThrives in a collaborative team environmentIs passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and client serviceMost importantly, you're someone who wants to help build a positive workplace while maintaining high clinical standards and supporting your team to be their best.
