Job description

We are a major global data analytics and research company. We offer technical expertise and market research on energy, steel, metals and mining. Our Group has a flat management structure and encourages engagement across our entire business. We are growing rapidly and have recently expanded our staff by over 30 people.

Role description

In this role you would be a spokesperson, attend conferences and meet clients. As an Iron Ore expert you should have some global market knowledge of iron ore and an understanding of steel making.

The role is to promote our position as a research house with a strong focus on Australia, Indonesia, China, Japan, Korea and India. The role requires some travel, mostly in South East Asia, and would suit someone who enjoys working in a professional services firm.

Candidates must demonstrate some experience in both Iron Ore and Steel Making market sectors.

It would help to have experience with a mineral economics firm, engineering consultancy, producer or banker. We offer a high levels of autonomy, with close interaction with senior management team in a comfortable environment. Our recent new management changes has been very successful implemented and our Leadership Team is now focused and ambitious.

Candidates must possess 2 - 5 years of experience specifically in the iron ore world.

What will the role look like?

- Deliver exceptional market data, analysis, and forecasts to support clients in the mining and metals industry. You would be supported by 2 analysts. The Iron Ore and Steel team is comprised of 12 analysts.

- Ensure the highest standards of quality for data, charts, and written content, continuously adapting to meet market demands and providing timely insights on significant market events.





- Conduct comprehensive analyses and produce detailed reports on a regular basis.

- Collaborate with other analysts to develop and maintain advanced models for supply, demand, pricing, and production costs.

- Engage in high-level information exchanges with knowledgeable clients and market participants.

About You

Naturally, you must have good analytical and communication skills, both oral and written. You should be interested in the energy transition and have an appreciation of mining, metals, economics and technology.

Qualifications and Skills:

- An experienced Commodity Analyst with good communication and presentation skills.

- Bachelor's degree in mineral economics, engineering, economics or a related quantitative discipline.

- Advanced written and verbal English skills, with strong presentation abilities.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and industry stakeholders.

- Proven track record of delivering innovative market analysis and commentary.

- Extensive experience and comfort in financial modelling.

- Strong interest in economic policy and its implications for the economy.

Because we build collaboration within our various teams, this role is mainly an "in-office" position, in Perth CBD. There may be some work place flexibility depending on our work schedule.



Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
