We are seeking caring, reliable and enthusiastic Teacher Aides to join our school team. This is an chance to support teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences while providing practical, educational and wellbeing support to students in the Special Education Program.

There are 2 Permanent and 1 Temporary positions. These positions are being offered in a Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight. The Part-Time Temporary position duration is until 11 December 2026 unless otherwise determined

Bentley Park College is a Prep to Year 12 state school in southern Cairns, Queensland, established in 1997. The College acknowledges and respects the Gimuy Walubarra Yidinji Bama, the Traditional Owners of the land. The College provides an inclusive and supportive learning environment across Primary and Secondary sectors, including a Special Education Program. Your opportunity:

- Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.

Responsibilities:





- Support teachers with classroom activities, sport and excursions.
- Assist students with learning, literacy, numeracy and technology.
- Support students with special needs and personal care where required.
- Assist with student supervision, wellbeing, health and safety.
- Prepare and maintain learning resources and equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks and student records.
- Build positive relationships through respect, empathy and confidentiality.
- Work effectively as part of the school team.
- Undertake other duties as directed.

About you:

We are looking for someone who:

- Has a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
- Is patient, caring, respectful and empathetic, particularly when supporting students with high or additional needs.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Works effectively as part of a team and can also work independently when required.
- Is reliable, flexible, organised and willing to assist across different areas of the school.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, discretion and sensitivity when working with students and their families.
- Is committed to student wellbeing, inclusion, health and safety.
- Is confident using computers and supporting students with technology.
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, relevant first aid and other training required for the role.
