High Road Production Ld
Newcastle
We’re blessed to shoot the most premium of real estate across Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter region.
As the team grows, we’re after an energetic hybrid videographer/editor with a passion for capturing homes — someone who can shoot beautifully and cut it in post production just as well.
You must be based in the Newcastle area — this is not a remote role. You will be on site across the region and back in the timeline on tight turnarounds, so proximity matters. If you live and breathe property film, love being privy to some of NSW’s finest homes and have the hunger to both shoot and cut them, read below!
ABOUT HIGH ROAD PRODUCTION
We are a tight-knit boutique video agency, now working with some of the most prestigious clients across Newcastle and the Central Coast, including McGrath, Lane Campos, The Agency, LJ Hooker, Belle Property, DOMA and JSH Projects.
Our mission is easy: deliver the highest calibre of content in our market, every single time.
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
You'll be on site most days capturing property, construction and brand content, then back at the desk cutting it yourself. Shoot to delivery runs on a 24 to 48 hour turnaround. Our turnaround times are firm expectations, not guidelines, so your workflow needs to handle that reliably. Check our Instagram to see the standard we work to: @highroadproduction.
Not only will you be preparing content for clients, but also actively helping in the personal brand development of HIGH ROAD PRODUCTION.
Our work spans across five content pillars: real estate, construction, architecture, property development and buyer’s agencies. Deliverables are a mix of horizontal landscape cuts and short-form vertical reels, so you need to be thinking in both formats from the moment you frame a shot.
THE TURNAROUND AND THE HOURS
Weekend work is very common, and there will be evenings where a cut has to go out. Out-of-hours work is part of how this role operates.
DAY TO DAY:
- Shooting residential and commercial property film — interiors, exteriors, detail and lifestyle
- Gimbal work for clean, deliberate movement through a home
- Drone operation for aerials and neighbourhood context
- Lighting and audio for agent profiles, testimonials and brand pieces
- Editing your own footage in Final Cut Pro, from rushes through to final master
- Editing footage suitable for the personal branding of High Road Production.
- Sequencing, shot selection, colour grading and sound design on every cut
- Building both horizontal landscape films and short-form vertical reels from the same shoot
- Delivering every job inside a 24 to 48 hour turnaround, including weekends when the job calls for it
- Handling client feedback and revisions through Frame.io and turning them around fast
- Collaborating with our project coordinator to ensure that both our team and clients are kept informed and updated
- Managing your own run sheet and travel across multiple shoots a day
- Tracking your jobs through Notion — this is how we run our workflow, so you'll need to be comfortable in it
- Offloading, backing up and labelling all media same-day, every time
- Consistent style and quality maintained across every single delivery
WHAT YOU IDEALLY NEED
- A minimum of one year proven experience shooting and editing — ideally real estate or architectural work, not just general content
- Access to your own camera body, lens set, gimbal, drone and edit machine is desirable but not essential
- Strong composition and lighting instincts that show up in every frame
- Confident shooting solo and making calls on site without hand-holding
- A confident social interaction ability to make experiences positive for both clients and vendors
- A proactive approach to creative direction of clients on-site with scripting, body language and tonality
- A working understanding of video sequencing, shot selection, colour grading and sound design. We take you the rest of the way through one-on-one training, but we expect a genuine base to build on
- The discipline to hold quality while working to a 24 to 72 hour turnaround
- Genuine availability for weekend and out-of-hours work
- Based in the Newcastle area and able to travel across Maitland, Port Stephens and the Hunter
- Proven editing experience in Final Cut Pro. This is the platform we cut on, so it is a requirement rather than a preference
- Comfortable using Notion and Frame.io for job tracking and review
- Full Australian driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle
- Organised and genuinely deadline-driven
WHAT WE'RE AFTER
- Experience shooting luxury or architectural property
- Experiencing directing and controlling clients on shoots with scripting, body language, and tonality
- Comfort with AI tools — Higgsfield, Artlist and similar generators are part of our stack
- Someone who wants to grow with us as we scale, not just fill a seat
- Captions, titles and motion graphics. These sit on our roadmap rather than being a day-one expectation, but a head start helps
WHAT YOU GET
One-on-one training to master our approach to sequencing, shot selection, colour grading and sound design, so you are not left to work it out on your own. A genuine roadmap into a fully autonomous videographer and editor role. And the chance to shoot and cut some of the best property in the region for clients most people in this market never get near.
