About the team
The Transport Systems Intelligence (TSI) team is a dynamic and collaborative group within the Transport Operations Business Unit. Our vision is to create a safer transport environment by enhancing operational efficiency, empowering network operators and transport planners with actionable insights and laying the foundation for future transport technology innovation.
About the role
We’re looking for a Transport Network Analyst to support the planning, analysis and optimisation of the Gold Coast transport network. In this role, you’ll use transport and traffic data to understand how the network is performing, identify issues and opportunities, and help develop practical solutions that improve the way people move around the City.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyse transport network data to identify performance issues and improvement opportunities.
- Support investigations into congestion, delays and network pinch points and help develop practical responses.
- Undertake traffic and corridor assessments to inform transport planning and operational decisions.
- Monitor network conditions and contribute to performance reporting and trend analysis.
- Prepare technical advice, findings and recommendations for transport initiatives.
- Support the development and assessment of network improvement options.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to investigate issues and deliver agreed outcomes.
- Apply transport analysis tools, data and systems to support evidence-based decision making.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent/relevant experience.
- Current C Class driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated experience as a traffic/transport professional.
- Experience with SIDRA and traffic microsimulation software.
- Knowledge of modern traffic modelling methodologies and practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder skills, with a collaborative approach.
